New class action suit adds to complaints over app payments

Apple is once again coming under legal fire for its approach to in-app purchases. A Pennsylvania man, Garen Maguerian, has reportedly filed a new class action suit, accusing Apple of being negligent in managing in-app purchases. It can be too easy for children to make in-app purchases of virtual goods while their parents are unaware, the suit argues....

Take charge of the maximize button in iTunes

Unlike every other application, the default behavior when clicking the maximize button in iTunes switches the window to miniplayer view. This can be frustrating when you're actually trying to maximize the window view.


Unlike every other application, the default behavior when clicking the maximize button in iTunes switches the window to miniplayer view. This can be frustrating when you're actually trying to maximize the window view.

The window menu reveals the shortcut of Command+Control+Z to switch between minimized and maximized views (listed as 'Zoom' in the menu), but I've found Option+clicking the green maximize button has the same function.

There's a new cat in town: registered Mac OS X developers can now hit Software Update for the just-revised latest update to Lion Developer Preview 2. The prerelease version of Mac OS X 10.7 works with XCode 4.1 Developer Preview 3.

If you're a developer but you haven't yet downloaded your Lion installer (and why not?) you can pick up your redemption code in the Mac Dev Center and then download Lion from the Mac App Store at your leisure.
